FreeRider designed the three-wheel Luggie Elite as a foldable travel scooter and a sturdier step up from the standard Luggie. It supports riders up to 320 lb, yet the frame weighs 51.7 lb without its lithium-ion battery and stays under 57 lb with the battery fitted.
Folding takes three steps: lower the seat, collapse the tiller and unclip the chassis. Folded, it is 18 in long and can be pulled along on its extendable handle like a rolling suitcase. Riding, you get a top speed of up to 4 mph, adjustable speed, regenerative braking with electric disc brakes and solid PU tires that cannot go flat. An LED meter shows battery status, with warnings for high and low voltage, and the battery can be upgraded later for more range.
